I
was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and began taking piano lessons
at age 6 and french horn at age 12. At age 16, I wrote my first
composition for piano solo, and have since composed over one hundred
original concert works or arrangements. My official catalog, to
date, includes nine orchestral works, four works for band, seventeen
piano solo works, seventeen works for chorus, and several other
instrumental and vocal works. Commissions have come from the North
Carolina Baptist State Convention, Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus,
Salem Community Orchestra, and the Little Symphony of Forsyth County,
plus other individual artists. Thirty works are published with Alcove
Music Publications.
Film scoring credits include: "Age to Age" (1999), "The
Other Shore (1999)", "Black Death" (1999), "Last
Night in Hudson" (1998)

I studied piano and theory with Helen Hartman Dingus from 1981 through
1993 in Fort Walton Beach. I studied music composition from 1993
through 1997 with Dr. William Schirmer and piano with Prof. Eugene
Hudson at Jacksonville University (FL), from where I graduated magna
cum laude with a Bachelor of Music. From 1997 through 1999, I studied
film music at North Carolina School of the Arts, receiving a Master
of Music, where I worked closely with accomplished film composer
- David McHugh.
My awards include: Two-Time Delius Composition Scholarship Laureate;
Leroy Greenspan Community Music Service Award - Walton County FL;
John Philip Sousa Award (band); Three-time All-State Band (FL),
and State Intercollegiate Band once; Paderewski medal winner (piano).
Currently, I am teaching private piano and french horn lessons.
I am a Christian, and am directing music ministries at Pfafftown
Baptist Church (NC). I am a member of ASCAP. I am also for hire
as composer, arranger, or pianist.
